COVID-19 Update: 18 October 2022

Your Side’s COVID-19 response:

Although the general community are no longer required to isolate from 14 October, the aged care and disability care workforce should not provide a home care service for 7 days in line with NSW Health adviceWorkers if essential may come to work after 7 days but should follow a risk management plan that includes wearing PPE and testing.

Please continue to let staff know if you test positive to COVID-19 or have any respiratory infection symptoms. You will not be permitted to attend any group outings for 1 week after diagnosis. This is to reduce the risk of transmission to vulnerable client groups and staff. Thanks for working to help keep yourself and others safe.

Your Side will:
  • 💉 Get booster shots. Public Health orders require in community disability and aged care workers to now have three vaccination doses. Your Side (and our partners) have fully complied with these orders. Our workforce is 100% boosted or has valid exemptions.
  • 😷 Confidently use PPE. We know PPE and vaccinations together reduce the risk of transmission enormously.
  • 🤧 Get a test before working if we have symptoms.
  • Continue to deliver much needed care to our clients.
  • Report positive cases and support clients and families to safely manage while isolating.

COVID-Safe Precautions

Mask Wearing

In line with NSW Government, masks are no longer a requirement on public transport. Clients can choose whether they would like to wear a mask on our public transport services. Masks will still be available to clients, supplied by Your Side. Wearing of masks are highly recommended by Your Side.

There is no change to our expectation that all aged care and disability workforce continue to wear a face mask when completing face to face services.

Our Staff

Staff continue to wear masks. They will isolate if they have symptoms and get tested. They will practice social distancing where possible and use good infection control and hand hygiene.

Our Clients

Your Side encourages everyone to get vaccinated, and for those who are already double vaxxed to book in your booster shots. The vaccines offer good protection from the very worst symptoms of the virus.
