Our Culture

Your Side is a not-for-profit, purpose-led organisation that attracts and values the people who truly care about giving compassionate and quality service. We encourage people to bring their whole selves to work and we provide a safe, supportive environment to cultivate a team who can grow and flourish in their jobs.

To enable this, we invest in Cultural Sensitivity and Awareness training for all team members and provide mental health support through our Employee Assistance Program. We have policies and processes to ensure we identify, encourage and support diversity and inclusion at all levels of the business. We provide very flexible working conditions and foster a warm, sharing culture that celebrates personal and business achievements, cultural differences and personal growth.

Our working environment is designed to encourage connection and fun, with well-behaved pets welcome in our offices, lots of plants and comfortable spaces for eating together, creative collaboration or rest.

Our commitment to Cultural Safety

Your Side recognises and embraces the richness of different cultures and strives to provide services which are welcoming and respectful of another person’s culture. We celebrate diversity and welcome all people regardless of ethnicity, faith, age, disability, language, gender identity or sexual orientation.

Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, cultures and life experiences and we believe everyone has the right to be treated with respect in a culturally appropriate manner. We aim for our staff to be culturally competent and tuned in to the needs of culturally diverse people.

Humans are at the heart of our culture

We know that when people choose their provider for care services, their number one priority is to trust the people they engage to deliver respectful and empathetic care.

Our approach is for each client to have a dedicated Care Consultant to get to know them, and learn about their home, their interests, their family and friends and what they want out of life. With this intimate knowledge, the Care Consultant can make suggestions and recommendations to help clients use their aged care funding to their best advantage.

For our people to build such valuable relationships, they need to be supported with the right leadership, care, training and resources from Your Side.

Your Side Culture
  • We embrace the whole person, valuing their strengths and skills, understanding their complexities and empathetic to their responsibilities in their lives outside of work.
  • We act as one team and recognise that, no matter what our role is, we all directly impact our clients.
  • We are collaborative and inclusive with clients, each other and with our partners.
  • We are honest and transparent in all that we do.

Above all, we are kind.
