Meet Armineh
One of our most loyal and long-standing employees, Armineh has been an integral team member of Your Side for the last 18 years. Armineh is Armenian and after being a carer for her parents for years, she migrated from Iran to Australia in 1986, excited to create a new life for herself. She was hoping to find work as a carer or in direct service to people in need.
But life had other plans for her, and Armineh took up a role to help her family instead, doing book-keeping and accounts for her brother’s jewellery wholesale business. When she was ready to move on, she saw the opportunity at Your Side to fulfil her purpose and apply her financial skills and experience within an organisation that helps the community.
There were around 150 applications for the role at that time, and Armineh’s heart of gold and generous spirit made her stand out above them all.
As the Accounts Payable officer, Armineh plays a crucial role in our finance team, ensuring invoices are paid on time and our finances are kept in order. But she does a whole lot more than that, taking on all those invisible tasks that keep the office running smoothly. She waters the plants and empties the dishwasher. She offers hugs, sweets and encouragement to team members when we need some TLC. Armineh has a cheeky sense of humour and gives a mean shoulder massage. Armineh really is the glue that binds us all together and her support enables everyone in the organisation to give the best of themselves to our clients and partners.
“I always want to help people, I’m very passionate about helping people, no matter the shape or form, as long as I am contributing. The only reason I’m in accounts is because I feel like I am contributing to the care of our clients. The core of our organisation depends on paying our suppliers to make sure they are providing what we offer, I make sure that happens.”
