Mental health respite: Carers Support (MHR:CS)
Mental Health Respite: Carers Support (MHR:CS) supports carers like you who are caring for a loved one living with a mental illness, intellectual disability and/or under the autism spectrum, whose health and wellbeing, or other impediments, are negatively impacting their ability to provide care.
Mental health carer support will assist carers and their families to continue in their caring roles, improve their health and wellbeing and participate socially and economically in the community. The highest priority will be given to carers without access to similar respite or carer support through other government-funded services.

We provide trained support workers to look after you in-home or out-of-home and support your loved one so you can take a break from your caring role or attend events and appointments that are important to you.
We understand that peer and social support is important to one’s well being. Carers can often feel isolated in their caring role. MHR:CS has been offering social and recreational activities for mental health carers for more than 10 years. One of the most popular activities are our carer retreats.
