Meet Clinical and Care Governance Manager – FATEMA

What are your qualifications/background?
My qualifications include:
- Master’s in Nursing (WSU)
- Master’s in Health Management (UNSW)
- Bachelor of Nursing (WSU)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Diploma in Emergency Nursing
- Certificate in Advance Care Foundation in Critical Care
I come from a clinical healthcare background and have been registered nurse for over 12 years. I started my career in public health across several hospitals, specialising in Emergency and Intensive Care. I have spent the past 4 years working in Aged Care in a number of senior leadership roles, focusing on clinical governance and aged care quality indicators. In addition to my healthcare work, I am also a teacher within the Nursing Faculty of Western Sydney University, University of Technology Sydney and TAFE NSW.
Which languages do you speak?
I speak Bangla, Hindi and English.
What is your role at Your Side and how do you think it will improve client care and services?
I’m the Clinical Care and Governance Manager at Your Side. I have a clinical oversight on our clients, monitor clients with complex health needs (including face to face visits for observation) and provide guidance to our consultants. This means I ensure that each individual gets the right treatment and services specific to their needs and I act as the client’s advocate. This role also puts me in a position to upskill current staff with clinical knowledge to provide better care.
